Area(s) of application
1. the complex assessment of underlying problematic gambling-related changes enables an early warning system even when information about individual gambling behavior cannot be interpreted with certainty.
2. in contrast to conventional screenings, the instrument also provides those affected with insights into problematic gambling-related thought patterns and assistance in changing their gambling behavior independently.
3. the result can also be made immediately available to laypersons (directly on the screen or by entering their own e-mail address) and can thus also be used to determine whether gambling addiction is already present. The procedure can also be used for private gambling addiction diagnostics (without first seeking psychological or medical help). A traffic light system and interpretation aids make it easy to interpret, even for non-experts.
4. the method would also be suitable for online gambling addiction prevention in schools, apprenticeships, universities and rehabilitation facilities.
Objectives:
1. The early detection of conspicuous or problematic gaming for the protection of gambling participants in the area of "responsible gaming".
2. As a basis for epidemiological studies
3. As a basis for therapeutic work with at-risk or addicted gamblers.

Execution
The procedure consists of 110 items and can be completed online.

Execution time
Approx. 15 minutes

Reliability
In a series of studies, reliability coefficients were determined for the individual scales, most of which are in the range of 0.70 to 0.80 (Cronbach's alpha).

Validity
Validation studies were conducted at Novomatic (Admiral Casinos) and Casino Austria branches with volunteers and with the consent of the CEOs of both gaming groups.
The scale values plausibly differentiate between frequent gamblers and people who rarely gamble (e.g. go to the casino once a year as a "social event").
The factor structure was replicated several times, which speaks for the stability and consistency of the method.

Evaluation / Standards
Standard and comparative values for the RGF scales are available both on the basis of non-gambling addicts (n=607) and gambling addicts in therapy (116; Villach gambling addiction outpatient clinic/Klagenfurt counseling center). This data was also used to optimize the ideal profile. Breakdown by gender, age and level of education available.

Security and data protection
The IR&C system meets the latest IT requirements ("banking standard"). As an additional security measure, personal codes can also be assigned instead of the specific names of the persons tested. Customers only need to provide sufficient PCs/laptops/touchpads with or without an Internet connection (on/off-line capable, also intranet-capable).
